Un altro personaggio storico della musica se ne è andato dopo una breve lotta contro il cancro come riportano i giornali, sto parlando di Richard Wright (1943-2008), il tastierista e membro fondatore dei Pink Floyd.La sua morte silenziosa rispecchia in fin dei conti tutta la sua vita artistica con in famoso gruppo, in quanto sicuramente ne è stato forse il membro più appartato e discreto e nonostante ciò i suoi giri di organo Hammond ancora sono vivi e caratteristici.
Tutti sappiamo che i suoi maggiori contributi musicali si trovano in A Saucerful of secrets, Shine on you crazy diamond , The great gig in the sky, Us and them… e Echoes.
Ed è proprio con Echoes che vorrei ricordarlo qui…una delle canzoni più belle dei Pink Floyd secondo me…la cui bellezza e peculiarità risiede proprio nei suoni che Richard Wright ha saputo creare:
